Survival Nutrition: Introduction

Menu

Welcome to Survival Nutrition.

These resources show foods that provide excellent nutrition, those that can be stored in bulk and how to grow abundant and delicious survival vegetables. Also here are spreadsheets that can be used to plan bulk food purchases and supplement orders.

The focus of these resources is on survival nutrition in the context of a failure in the food supply chain. There is a significant probability that shortages will occur. If you plan to simply have a buffer for a short term interruption you may prefer sufficient food and consumables to last for a limited period. If you plan to provide robust nutrition for an indefinite period growing your own vegetables is necessary.

The economy of the collective west is on a trajectory to hyperinflation and collapse and whatever food remains available may become prohibitively expensive.

Farms are being closed in the context of Agenda 2030. This can be expected to result in shortages in food, increased food costs and reduction in food quality.

The US and its NATO vassals appear intent on causing war and are provoking Russia and China despite being clearly warned that their attacks will result in a response. That response could come in several forms. Having sufficient storable food that will provide sound nutrition is therefore an imperative.

Having adequate supplies provides a buffer. If there is a prolonged failure in the food supply chain it will be necessary to grow fresh foods. There are links in these resources to Huw Richard's excellent videos on survival gardening. Huw has exceptional knowledge and enthusiasm for growing vegetables and fruit.

Even when your garden reliably provides fresh vegetables it will remain necessary to have stocks of foods that you cannot grow and of the nutrients obtained from supplements.

Your stocks of food need to provide for you for as long as the food chain fails unless you adapt to a diet comprising only food from your vegetable garden and alternative sources eg the many wild foods listed in Food For Free by Richard Mabey.

The foods shown in these resources are particularly suitable as they provide excellent nutrition and can be stored easily.

These resources have a chart showing what foods are rich in specific nutrients and a template for optimal nutrition. The foods listed on the spreadsheet for storage are consistent with these foods.

Additional items and non food items can be added to the spreadsheet.

The volume, weight, shelf life, temperature, humidity and cost of stored foods need to be considered.

Keeping records and using stock rotation is important to prevent stocks perishing. Consuming stored foods and replacing what has been used, while possible, will ensure a long shelf life.

Other aspects of preparation include having multiple alternative strategies, a stock of non food consumable items, a form of water purification eg Berkey water purification systems here, home security and deterrents, a solar generating system sufficient for basic electrical needs, having a network of like minded people, not letting people who are unwilling to prepare know that you have prepared, keeping cash out of the banks except as necessary eg for monthly payments, having precious metals and materials with which you can barter, having weapons and being ready to use them to defend yourself and your family.
