According to the minister of Foreign affairs, the citizens ask the Turkish Government to block the entry of these countries into the military bloc for its support of the kurds.

The minister of Foreign affairs of Turkey, Mevlut Cavusoglu, has declared Saturday that "the vast majority of the Turkish people, it is against the membership of Finland and Sweden in NATO, as these countries support to kurdish militias of the Protection Units and Popular of the Workers' Party of Kurdistan, entities that Ankara considers terrorists.

Before you participate in an informal meeting of the foreign ministers of the NATO member countries, Cavusoglu noted that the Turkish Government has always been in favor of the open-door policy of the military bloc, but also she is very aware that Finland and Sweden have "openly supported and have deals" with that "terrorist organization" involved in the attacks against "the troops and the Turkish people".

"We don't have a positive attitude": Turkey evaluates the eventual membership of Finland and Sweden in NATO.

"Therefore, it is unacceptable and outrageous that our friends and allies in support of this terrorist organization, and because of our fight against this terrorist organization, there have been restrictions on the export of products of the defense industry that we're importing of the allies, and some countries that are planning to be members of NATO," he explained.

"And that is why the vast majority of the Turkish people, it is against the membership of those countries who support the terrorist organization Workers' Party of Kurdistan / Protection Units Popular and we ask that you block this accession, "said Cavusoglu, adding that in any case they are issues that have to deal with its NATO allies, as well as directly with Finland and Sweden.

This Thursday, Finland announced that "you must apply for admission to NATO without delay". It is estimated that Sweden also has the intention of presenting his application for membership of the military alliance.

Both countries had spent years opposing the idea of joining NATO in an apparent attempt to maintain neutrality between Russia and the West, but that dynamic changed after the start of the military actions of Moscow in Ukraine.
